Google can’t give you the perfect, homemade recipe for cream cheese? Don’t worry, we got you; just keep scrolling to find out!

I bet you knew this but you can easily make dairy products at home, the challenge although is, to find the right recipe and we’ve just resolved that right here for three most heavily consumed and used dairy products: ice cream, sour cream and cream cheese.

Ice cream: an absolute favourite can easily be prepared without the need for any fancy equipment like an ice cream churner:

- Firstly, you need to whip up around 500 ml of heavy or whipping cream until it reaches stiff peaks. After that, you need to fold in 400ml of condensed milk, add toppings of your choice and freeze for 6-7 hours. For instance, you could fold in crushed Oreo cookies to assemble a delicious artificial preservative-free cookies and cream ice cream.

Sour cream: now that’s a tricky one….not anymore!

- In order to make sour cream, add 2 cups of heavy cream along with half a cup of milk and 4 teaspoons of lemon juice into a jar and shake well. Tighten the top with a cheesecloth or kitchen paper towel and let it sit overnight to get some fresh sour cream in the morning that doesn’t have the shelf life of months.

Cream cheese: aaaa it’s too difficult to buy it right now, let me make it instead!

- Cream cheese too has a lot of preservatives and can be quite expensive at times. All you have to do is heat 1000ml of whole fat milk in a saucepan at medium heat until it comes to a simmer. Next, add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice at 1 minute intervals thrice while stirring. Sieve the mixture through a cheesecloth and let it sit there for upto 20 mins. Lastly, add a pinch or so of salt and process it in a food processor or use a hand mixer for about 3 minutes or until it reaches a smooth cream cheese consistency.

Butter and buttermilk: the long lost dairy siblings loved and pampered by Indian families can now be made at home without any complicated procedures!

- Finally, you can produce upto 2 splendid dairy products: butter and buttermilk with just one recipe. Whip 750ml of cold heavy cream in a food processor or using a hand mixer for about 4 minutes. Then, add in 4 to 5 tablespoons of ice cold water. The mixture needs to be passed through a cheesecloth wherein the liquid at the bottom is the buttermilk and the solid on top is the rich creamy butter!
